WORK > TEXTURE FIELDS

In these works on paper, I am seeking a sense of meditative, tactile, and expansive space. I am drawn to the inherent fragility of the paper I incorporate, which ranges from the stained covering that lines my work table to heavily sanded drawing and watercolor papers. The surface becomes a site of transformation, where layers of pigment, texture, and gesture coalesce. My approach is process-based and responsive, allowing the medium to guide me as much as I direct it.
