WORK > EIGHT BY TEN

I think of the small works in this series as pages in a sort of loose-leaf sketchbook, reflecting a period of exploration and idea gathering. The 8”x10” format provided a consistent framework within which I could experiment freely, unbound by limitations of medium or subject. Each piece varies in technique, ranging from acrylic and watercolor on paper to physically abraded digital inkjet prints. During a stage of life when my time in the studio was limited, the small format also gave me the freedom to work quickly and to work at a variety of locations, as well as to capture fleeting unfiltered inspiration.
